What is ADACS?

The Automatic Data Acquisition System (ADACS) is an independent application within the AirQUIS product line, for retrieving measurement data such as meteorology and air quality data from a variety of sources.

In short, ADACS is a sophisticated modern solution using standardized and object-oriented technology to handle data flow, data retrieval, quality assurance and data storage. All these processes can be scheduled to run automatically. ADACS is very time saving in terms of replacing the manual routines and avoiding unnecessary human error.

Relation between ADACS and a given station

The backend of ADACS is designed as a distributed system. All activities between the sub-modules are handled asynchronously, and a dedicated messaging service keeps track of all messages and activities in a prioritized queue. This architecture gives the user the state-of-the art solution reflecting the resilience of the data acquisition system and availability of measurement data.

ADACS features
ADACS consists of the following features:

  • Configuration for defining necessary information for accessing the monitoring stations and collecting data through the data logger.
  • Quality Assurance with automatic flagging of the measurement data
  • Calibration of measurement data
  • Logging all the steps during acquiring the measurement data

All these features are now available through a User Friendly Web Interface. Simplicity and stability are the main success criteria for ADACS.

Easy to use web based interface, above the step-by-step instruction
of how to add a new instrument...

Integration of other data acquisition systems
ADACS provides flexible read and write features together with XML as standard internal data exchange format enabling the integration of data from other data acquisition systems.
